Assignment of Benefits (AOB)
- Assignment of Benefits (AOB) is an agreement between the patient and the insurance company that provides authority to the insurance company to make the payment of the patient's health services directly to the provider once signed by the patient.
- An insurance company does not have the right to make the payment directly to the provider if AOB is not signed by the patient.
- The provider gets the AOB signed by the patient before performing the actual services.

DeleteHello, is AOB the same with COB?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is different. COB stands for Coordination of Benefit that helps to determine which insurance is primary, secondary, or tertiary.
DeleteWho are you man? where are you from? Atleast mention your country where you are located
ReplyDeleteIt is India.
DeleteThe provider provides the service without getting sign from patient. Then insurance was paid to the patient from payer directly. How will get the provider's payment?
ReplyDeleteThe provider will bill the claim to the patient and then the patient will pay the provider.
