Mutual of Omaha - Claim status & Eligibility
- Mutual of Omaha is a Medicare supplement plan i.e. it is always secondary payer to primary payer Medicare.
- If Medicare denies the claim then it will not pay by supplement plan as well.
- In some cases, the supplement plan pays the Medicare-denied claims when denied as non-covered services under the patient plan or routine services not covered.
- To check the claim status or eligibility of the Mutual of Omaha claim use the online portal where the user does not need to complete the registration process.
- On the website, just enter Tax ID then get the claim information or eligibility.
- Mutual of Omaha insurance does not cover Medicare part B deductible, so this deductible amount would be the patient responsibility but they do cover Medicare coinsurance and pays it.

ReplyDeleteDoes the patient paid the deductible for secondary insurance or not??
ReplyDeleteYes, it is possible in certain plans that the secondary insurance processes the claim and applies the amount towards the deductible. If there is no tertiary insurance then it can be billed to the patient and the patient will need to pay that amount.
