Free Tools To Identify Bundle CPT Codes

  • CGS Medicare & Medicare FL (First Coast Service Options, Inc.) insurance have given an open tool to their website to identify bundle CPT codes.
  • On both websites, need to enter CPT and then search for it. It shows the CPT codes to which the current CPT is bundled.
  • It also shows the "Modifier/Policy Indicator" column with values "0-Not allowed", "1-Allowed" & "9-Not applicable".

  • Modifier Indicator - "0-Not allowed": Take the action as per the client's instructions either adjust off or send an appeal.
  • Modifier Indicator - "1-Allowed": Add a modifier that is suggested by the client or assign it to the coding team for the most accurate modifier for the CPT code.
  • Modifier Indicator - "9-Not applicable": Make a call to insurance to get the claim reprocessed.

    1. It depends on another CPT as well that is billed on the same date of service. But, you can visit below link to find the reason for denial and how can you correct this?

    1. This denial does not imply any specific reason. There could be multiple reasons for this denial. While working on this denial, you can check the remark code if any available with this denial. Then, you can work accordingly. Or else, you need to make a call to insurance and verify the denial reason.

Most probably, there would be coverage or CPT-related issues.
